Our Sustainability Practices
Our sustainability mission goes beyond efforts to minimize environmental impact. It also includes caring for our people and giving a voice to marginalized communities. Here’s how we make this a reality and how you can help:
An eye on the future
We prioritize growers who are taking the extra step to farm sustainably. Does this mean they carry certifications? Not always. Certifications are important, but they can be costly and overly rigid for small growers. Instead, we support growers who are dedicated to cultivating beautiful fruit with practices that are sustainable for both the vineyard’s eco-systems and their own business.
Making the right choice
Our wine packaging satisfies both form and function.
Glass — Our bottles are recyclable and lighter weight than traditional glass to minimize our carbon footprint.
Closures — We choose 100% recyclable tin capsules for our upper tier wines and go with no capsules for our everyday Fifth Moon wines.
Corks — We use compostable Neutrocorks in our Fifth Moon wines; these and our entire Hundred Knot collection are stopped with carbon negative natural cork. According to Amorim, a single cork stopper can absorb 309g of CO2!
Practical & eco-friendly
Our goal is always for our wines to arrive safely at your door. And we do it with minimal, recyclable packing material.
Boxes — 100% recyclable cardboard.
Wine Inserts — Molded pulp made from post-consumer paper waste diverted from landfills and incinerators. Insulating, protective, 100% recyclable and biodegradable.
Marketing Materials — Minimal printing. All materials made on 100% recyclable paper.

We’re better together
When we give more people a seat at the table—from consumers to employees—we create a more vibrant and thriving community. A holistic approach to sustainability lets diverse voices be heard, brings to light social and environmental issues that are often overlooked, and creates opportunities for real and comprehensive change. Working together, we can build a more sustainable, inclusive, and healthier future for all.
